I bought this kit as a practice kit for a small apartment. Fits a relatively small space perfectly and feels comparable enough to an acoustic kit to keep my chops in decent shape. Putting it together was pretty easy and I was able to find a good configuration of the pads to simulate acoustic kit pretty accurately built in synth kits are par for the course which is pretty decent quality and certainly enough to provide a reasonably real experience with tone and dynamics. All in all this was a great bang for the buck purchase.
This is a very solid kit, the mesh is a lot nicer than banging on hard rubber, more natural. Foot pedal and bass kick are solid and well made. After have played around with an regular drum set a few years ago I though I might be sort of Okay. The electronic kit with built in metronome and recording will remind you quickly just how bad you are or, perhaps in your case, good.
My family decided to get these for ourselves for Christmas. We all had interest in learning to play so it seemed perfect. One parent decided he was just not coordinated and would never make any progress. One kid enjoys just fooling around with no particular rhyme or reason. Another kid is already a musician and puts in some time here & there. But, this parent has actually started online lessons and can play a couple of beats! I don't really have anything to compare to, but I really like this set. I'm struggling a bit with the positioning of the snare. I'd like to raise it but can't figure out how. But I may have not tried hard enough and someone else put it together. For the price, this does everything I could possibly need and more, at least as a beginner. It seems sturdy and quality enough that I'm not afraid to really wail on it. I had no idea playing the drums was so fun, especially after you can make a couple beats. You can do this in only a day or two! I already managed to impress a friend. Just one, but it still counts.
This set is awesome. I haven’t played drums in years and really wanted to get back in to it and these were spoken highly of. There’s times I’m playing with my headphones on and I feel like I’m being so loud because the “feel” of the mesh. But when I take my headphones off to hear myself I’m just smacking of plastic. Having the option to add two more pieces to the set was a huge bonus too. I myself bought another kick pad and connected it to Tom 4 to make a double bass. I also bought an extra 8” cymbal to use as a ride so I could have 2 crash cymbals at all times. The weakest thing about this set to me is some of the sounds that are programmed in. More specifically the hi-hats. The set is a little small too so if you’re taller look in to ways to bring the height up a bit. Besides that, I highly recommend it.
